The ceremony that took place in Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey was hosted by Nicki Minaj. In this ceremony, Taylor Swift and SZA were the eighth and sixth nominations. The Global Icon Award will be honored to Sean “Diddy” Combs at the event. Shakira will be given the Video Vanguard Award.
There were also various artists who were set for the performance at the event like Olivia Rodrigo, Demi Lovato, Doja Cat, Karol G, Kelsea Ballerini, and TOMORROW X TOGETHER. According to the reports, almost 10 OMG moments from the event have been assembled throughout the whole year.
The Vanguard Award at the 2015 VMAs was given to Kanye by Taylor Swift. While receiving the award he announced another pursuit outside music. He stated
“And yes, as you probably could have guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2022 to run for thr president.”
