Stephen Strasburg, the national pitcher of Washington has planned for a retirement. His plan was to retire officially on Saturday. He planned to do it with a lavish press conference at Nationals Park. whereas the uniform ceremony for retirement has been scheduled for next year.
Strasburg along with his representatives were informed on Thursday that it would not take place according to the two people who had enough knowledge of the talk. The original agreement of Strasburg about his retirement after his seven years of contribution with a contract of $245 million.
By 2029, he would still own almost $105 million. The idea of retirement was raised by the National. They told Scoot Boras, Strasburg’s agent that they had different plans without giving any explanation.
Mike Rizzo, Nats GM stated to the Fan that
“He signed a seven-year deal, he’s got (3.5) years left on the deal,”
he added by saying
“And he’ll get paid for those four years in the deal until he makes a decision on what his future is going to be.”
