Microsoft Protects Users Legally For Using Its AI Services

The rumors are coming from Microsoft that it legally protects its clients or customers even if they are using Microsoft AI services. Microsoft wants to spread AI technology more.

 A blog post said Microsoft Copilot users who use the output from generative AI its Copilot AI service, Microsoft will be protected from the threats of intellectual property infringement claims. Copilot is a Microspft’s AI assistant that can help you with all of Microsoft’s desktop applications.

The vice chairman and president Brad Smith and corporate vice president and chief legal officer Hossein Nowbar said,

“While these transformative tools open doors to new possibilities, they are also raising new questions”.

The commits show that Microsoft has protected users against patent claims relating to Microsoft products and the company’s latest action is for expansion of this cover. The rise of AI questioned how data and information are used in AI model training. That is the biggest concern with copyright issues.

 Mr. Smith and Mr. Nowbar said,

“Even where existing copyright law is clear, generative AI is raising new public policy issues and shining a light on multiple public goals. We believe the world needs AI to advance the spread of knowledge and help solve major societal challenges”.
